Whether you’re looking to be educated about what plants are secretly living in the yard of your new home, or thinking about a full-blown installation, Paula’s Perennials’ flexible services are geared towards making your dream garden a reality.
Design & Installation
We pride ourselves in never creating “cookie-cutter” gardens. Every garden we design is a carefully planned mix of the homeowner’s preferences, the time they have to spend in the garden, and most importantly, exactly the right perennials, trees and shrubs that will thrive for years and years to come. Purchased from the most reputable growers in Connecticut, every last plant we use in our designs is hand-selected for each job. All of our services include initial soil amendment advice, which we believe to be the most important foundation for any healthy garden.
Is your garden stressing you out instead of blissing you out? Are shade plants withering away in full sun or sun-loving flowers hiding in the shade? Move into a new house with amazing gardens that are turning into a confusing jungle closing in on your home? We can right the wrongs in just about any garden. After a few hours of digging, dividing, trimming, removing bad stuff and making room for good stuff, you won’t believe how your garden and property will be transformed. Most importantly, we’ll teach you about the plantings in your newly renovated garden and how to maintain them.
Our care program involves three visits per year. In late fall, we offer a Fall Turndown, where we put the garden to bed by cutting back appropriate perennials and preparing plantings for a cozy winter and a healthy spring. We offer a Spring Wakeup, when we cut back appropriate plantings, prune and shape tricky plants such as roses and hydrangeas, remove debris and prepare the garden for the summer season. We offer a Midseason Groom, which involves deadheading and tidying up plantings and preparing them for a second, late summer bloom cycle.
